This is an odd and quite bloody black comedy from Thailand, written and directed by Pen-Ek Ratanaruang. The slow-paced yet energetic film is worthwhile because it is original, largely unpredictable, stylish, and does not take itself too seriously. There is a certain charm to the central character, played by Lalita Panyopas, and it is interesting to follow her personality transformation; however, the characters are not very well developed. 6ixtynin9 ends with an appropriate quote from Truman Capote:
When God gives you a gift, he also gives you a whip.
(Original title: Ruang talok 69.)
