2 GB of RAM

Yesterday, I installed an additional gigabyte of RAM in my computer (Kingston ValueRAM), making a total of 2 gigabytes of RAM. My Windows Experience Index memory subscore dropped from 4.2 to 4.1; I'm guessing that is due to the new RAM module having a higher CAS latency of 2.5 (the two original modules have a CAS latency of 2; the slowest determines the speed of all the modules), and I also think the memory upgrade disabled the dual-channel feature (it used to be 512 MB×2). After having used the computer for a number of hours, however, I can say that Windows Vista feels snappier, and the additional memory is certainly useful when I boot up my virtual machines, so I am happy.
