Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004)

Rating: 4½/5

Intense, brutal, gruesome, gory, uncompromising, and powerful. The war scenes are excellently executed and authentic-feeling, but it is the brotherhood dynamics that make this film special and memorable. It is also interesting to note the symbolism: the two brothers can be seen to represent North Korea and South Korea.

Original title: Taegukgi hwinalrimyeo; Swedish title: Brotherhood of War.
