My Review Policy

I figured I should write down the policy I follow regarding movie and book reviews, partly for my own reference, partly for people who visit my movies and books pages regularly, so here it is. Currently I only review movies and books in a systematic way; CDs, software, and other products are reviewed occasionally but not necessarily rated.

I review all movies I see in the theater. As for movies I see at home (DVD, cable), I only write reviews when I have something to say about those movies. That also goes for books. Movies/books that I have already seen/read before I started keeping track of my ratings and later see/read again will be rated based on a combination of what I thought of the movie/book the first time I saw/read it (if I remember) and what I thought of it when I saw/read it this time around.

Update 2007-01-22: Removed the distinction between movies I see in the theater and those I see at home in terms of which movies I review; all movies, and books, are rated but not necessarily reviewed.
